Terracotta thymiateria has a form of a bust of a participant in a religious procession in honor of Dionysus. It has a sleeveless chiton, with a lush wreath of ivy leaves on her head and two ivy fruits above her forehead. A mithra (ribbon) falls from the forehead to the shoulders. These cups thymiateria were used during religious ceremonies to burn incense. Usually, the action of cults was taken place in home sanctuaries in the family circle.
